Las Vegas, NV – FilAmTV Network is thrilled to announce that Michael Kuya has been cast as Tito Vic in the highly anticipated romantic comedy series, Maid To Shine.
Michael Kuya, born in the Philippines and raised in Illinois, discovered his passion for acting during his first year of college. Initially a business major, he enrolled in a theater class to improve his presentation skills, unaware that this decision would ignite a lifelong love for the craft.
“I never imagined that a simple theater class would lead me to where I am today,” Michael shared. “I’m deeply grateful to Giovannie Espiritu, the entire Maid to Shine team, and FilAmTV Network for this wonderful opportunity. I’m looking forward to digging deep into the character of Tito Vic and bringing as much entertainment and energy as the city of Las Vegas itself!”
Maid To Shine is nearing the completion of casting its lead and supporting characters, with the production team soon scouting local talent for day player roles. This presents an exciting opportunity for aspiring actors to join this vibrant project. The series is also reaching out to community partners and sponsors interested in supporting this dynamic production and celebrating the Filipino-American experience.
The six-episode romantic comedy centers on Elena Santos, a hardworking Filipina maid in Las Vegas who harbors a hidden talent for singing. The series promises a delightful mix of love, laughter, and a rich portrayal of the Filipino-American experience.
Executive produced by Sam Buban, President and CEO of FilAmTV Network and owner of Pure Medical Equipment & Supplies, and Esmeralda Padilla-Gould, Vice President & COO of FilAmTV Network and member of the prominent Padilla showbiz clan in the Philippines, Maid to Shine is written and directed by Giovannie Espiritu, a Telly Award-winning filmmaker also known for her on-camera work in Lone Star 911, Young Sheldon, and Bob Hearts Abishola. After completing principal photography on her feature film Love & Karma last year—centering Filipino talent Belinda Panelo and Jojo Riguerra—Giovannie has focused on telling stories that highlight the Filipino-American experience. Her work often explores themes of dismantling the patriarchy, healing generational trauma, and exposing systemic biases, all delivered with her signature blend of humor and heart.
Maid To Shine invites sponsors and community partners to explore opportunities for collaboration. By joining this journey, you can be part of a project that uplifts diverse voices and brings a unique cultural narrative to life. We look forward to sharing this heartfelt series with the world!
