Sam Buban, a self-made individual with humble beginnings, stands as a testament to the power of perseverance. As the youngest of ten siblings, he embarked on an extraordinary journey that eventually led him to the helm of FilAmTV Network.
Sam’s academic pursuits took him to Divine Word University of Tacloban and La Salle Araneta University Foundation, where he laid the foundation for his future endeavors.
In 1983, he made a life-changing move to the United States, settling in Marin County, California. There, he assumed the role of Deputy Program Director at the California Autism Foundation from 1987 to 1992. In 1993, he ventured into education as a high school math teacher, assigned to the California Youth Authority for a year. Sam also served as a College Instructor for four years at Concorde Career College, spanning from 2004 to 2007.
Balancing his career, Sam moonlighted as a Full Charge Bookkeeper and Tax Preparer in Vallejo, California, until a significant move to Los Angeles, where he married Pat Magallanes.
The corporate world recognized Sam’s talent, and he assumed the position of Comptroller in 1994 at Team One Staffing, Los Angeles’ largest temp agency. In 2007, the Buban family embarked on a new chapter by relocating to Las Vegas, where they founded Pure Medical Equipment with his late beloved wife, Pat Magallanes.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Sam’s dedication to faith and community service is unwavering. He’s served as a Bible teacher since 1998 and held positions as a Deacon in a Four Square Church in Los Angeles, as well as a Church Council member at Lifey Christian Church in Las Vegas.
Sam’s commitment extends to community leadership, as he has been an Executive Director and is now the President of FilAm Civic Action International, a testament to his devotion to community empowerment.
In July 2023, Sam Buban took on a new role, becoming the President and CEO of FilAmTV Network. Notably, Sam’s first TV show on FilAmTV Network is “The Pulse.” His remarkable journey and dedication to service are a source of inspiration for us all as we continue to celebrate our vibrant culture and ensure that every screen tells our unique story under his leadership.
Embracing a new era of leadership, Esmeralda Padilla-Gould steps into her role as Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, and Equity Partner at FilAmTV Network. With nearly a decade of experience as a TV personality, her journey unfolds with roots in the distinguished showbiz Padilla clan in the Philippines. Starting as a flight attendant, Esmeralda cultivated a global perspective and honed her skills in delivering impeccable service.
Esmeralda’s story is one of diversity and excellence. She earned the coveted title of Mrs. Asian Las Vegas in 2014 and graced the airwaves as a singer-songwriter, enchanting audiences through shows like “Music Asia,” “Music Planet,” “VegasVibes,” and “VegasVibes Junction,” where she takes the lead as a host-producer. Her charismatic presence on the small screen resonates deeply, as evidenced by her co-hosting role on “The Pulse” alongside Sam Buban.
In 2017, a new chapter in her journey began with her entry into TV journalism as a newscaster on Asian Culture TV (ACTV). Currently, she serves as the Managing Editor for The Fil-American Post, using her graphic design talents to elevate the content and make it even more appealing.
But Esmeralda’s talents and accomplishments extend far beyond the world of television. She graces the world of fashion as a model and is celebrated as the brand ambassador for the renowned French designer Anne Fontaine, embodying grace and style.
Music, too, is a canvas where Esmeralda paints her passion and dedication. Her recent musical releases include her very own heartfelt original composition, “Smile Forevermore,” launched in March 2023, with musical arranger Leo Mena. She also interpreted the song “Prayer of Love,” by Master Ted Sun, which was released in Taiwan.
